Hearts of Jersey Chapter #179

Dedicated to inspiring hope in heart disease patients and their families

For more than 50 years, Mended Hearts has been bringing together patients, spouses, family members, friends, medical professionals — all of us who are faced with the realities of heart disease — to form a network of caring individuals.

Mended Hearts is made up of the very kinds of people it serves — heart patients, their families, and others impacted by heart disease. Mended Hearts support groups help people understand that there can be a rich, rewarding life after heart disease. Members volunteer to visit heart patients and their families in hospitals as living examples of survival and recovery.

Hearts of Jersey Chapter #179 was chartered at Neptune, NJ in February 1999 as a chapter of The Mended Hearts, Inc. We partner with the medical centers of the Meridian Health family:

• Meetings for education and mutual support are held at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, and Ocean Medical Center in Brick.
• Specially trained members visit heart disease patients while they are in these hospitals.
• A monthly newsletter is mailed to members and to patients who have been visited in the previous three months, and placed where heart patients are likely to gather.
